We’ve been hard at work on Epic Pen over the past few months, striving to make it even better for our users. Today, we are excited to announce the introduction of two new exciting features to Epic Pen Pro 3.12: Fading Ink and Highlighted Cursor. We’ve taken our time to ensure both these new features feel great to use and once you get to try them we think you’ll agree.
Epic Pen Pro’s new Fading Ink mode makes strokes, shapes, and text to gradually fade away after being created. This is useful when you want to draw attention to something during a presentation or screen sharing session, or when you write notes that don’t need to stay on screen for very long.
We think Fading Ink provides a great new way of using Epic Pen. We took our time to make sure it felt intuitive and easy to use without making Epic Pen feel more complicated. As such, Fading Ink works flawlessly with all the Epic Pen drawing tools you already know and can easily be toggled on or off from the toolbar. You can also easily adjust the fadeout time from the Epic Pen toolbar.
Have others ever struggled to see your cursor on a cluttered desktop screen? If so we think you’ll really like our new Highlighted Cursor feature. When enabled, this features creates a brightly colored translucent halo around your mouse cursor, making it easy to locate on any background. It’s a great feature for screen sharing sessions where you want to help draw attention to where your cursor is and your actions. Change the color simply by changing the current pen color on the Epic Pen toolbar, and likewise to change the halo size, simply change your pen size.
Additionally, if you enable Fading Ink, then a trail of Fading Ink will follow your mouse cursor as you click and drag things. We’ve added little touches like this to help make it easier and more fun for others to understand your mouse actions.
At Tank Studios, we love using this tool for screen sharing sessions and recording demo videos. We think you’ll love it too!
